We're celebrating 10 years of taiko! We have been sharing our love of taiko since 2011, and we want to share our milestone with you!
After postponing the event date due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have pinpointed a date and venue-- see below for details.
This is an outdoor venue. Please bring lawn chairs, blankets, etc, as well as a picnic if you'd like!

This is an outdoor event-- what if it rains?
Sunday, 8/14 is the rain date for this event-- if the weather for 8/13 looks poor, we will make an announcement via email and on this website. Regardless, please check the forecast ahead of time and be prepared for outdoor conditions (sunscreen, ponchos, bug spray, etc).
Do I need to bring my own chairs?
If you would like to sit in a lawn chair, please bring your own. You're also welcome to bring a blanket and sit on the grass!
Will there be bathrooms available?
Yes! The City of Easthampton maintains bathrooms at Millside Park.
Can I bring a picnic? Will there be food on-site?
Yes and yes! We invite you to spread out a picnic, relax, and enjoy the show-- doors open at 5:00pm so you have plenty of time to get settled in. Crooked Stick Pops will be vending delicious popsicles! Please note that alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the premises.
**Due to circumstances beyond our control, Holyoke Hummus and Vegan Pizza Land are unable to attend this event.**
Can I buy tickets on-site?
Ticket sales will be available at the park entrance on the day of the event by cash or check ONLY. If you wish to pay by card, please navigate to the ticket purchase website and buy a ticket there.
Please be advised that there aren't any 'tickets' to be scanned at the door; we will have a list of names of those who have purchased tickets ahead of time. However, if you (or someone you know) purchase a ticket on the day-of, it would expedite the process if you can show the purchase confirmation email.
We will also have some merch available for sale-- commemorative tees and stickers with our special 10th anniversary design (Original design by Mollie Davis). Merchandise can be purchased by cash or check, or through the ticket purchasing site linked above.
Are there sliding scale or discounted tickets available?
Thanks to generous donations, we are able to offer a limited number of free, subsidized tickets to our show! These tickets are intended for those who would otherwise be unable to attend our performance. Although we are a small group with a small budget, we are proud to be able to make our show more accessible to a wider community. Please contact info@mountainrivertaiko.com if you are interested (no questions asked).
I want to try taiko!
Our special guest Tiffany Tamaribuchi will be holding an intro-level taiko workshop in Williamsburg, MA on Sunday 8/14 (supported by the Williamsburg Local Cultural Council). See information below!
If you're interested in a longer-term commitment, we will begin offering beginner sessions starting in October 2022. Please sign up for our mailing list to learn more, or check for updates to our Join Us page!
